Logs & activity

Every request as a log line, usage over time, and CSV exports of both.

The console records metadata for every request: never the prompt or the answer. Every member of the organization can see logs and activity.

Logs

Under Logs you see one line per request with:

  • time, requested model, the model and provider that actually served it,
  • status (for example ok, upstream_error, rate_limited, spend_limit_exceeded, blocked_guardrail, blocked_injection),
  • prompt, cached and completion tokens, cost and latency,
  • the API key and your own end-user id, if you sent one.

Filter by time range, key, model, provider, status and end-user id, or show only requests the prompt-injection scan flagged, and choose which columns to show. Above the table you see totals and a volume chart for the current filter.

Click a line to open its detail. After a failover it shows which provider failed and which one served the request, so you can tell a slow provider from a slow model. If a provider returned no token counts, the detail marks the counts as "estimated by the gateway".

Tag requests with your own user id

Send the OpenAI user field with a stable id from your system, for example a hashed customer id:

json
{
  "model": "mistral/mistral-small-4",
  "user": "customer-4711",
  "messages": [{ "role": "user", "content": "Hallo!" }]
}

Kontinent stores the value with the request, and you can filter the logs by it. Use an id, not a name or an email address: the field is metadata and should not carry personal data in clear text.

Export

Export CSV downloads the lines matching your filter, up to 100,000 rows per export. The columns are: time, model, served model, provider, status, prompt tokens, cached tokens, completion tokens, cost in micro-EUR, latency in milliseconds, end user and key. For longer periods, export in several time ranges.

Activity

Under Activity you see token usage over time, by hour or by day. All dates are in UTC.

  • Group by model, API key or team to see who drives usage.
  • Filter by key, model or team.
  • Download CSV exports the chart data.

Each key also has its own page with its usage over time, under API Keys.
