Credits & billing

Top up credit, refill it automatically, get warned before it runs out, and find your invoices.

Kontinent is prepaid: your organization holds a credit balance, and every request debits its exact cost. Billing lives under Credits in the console. Every member can see the balance, transactions and invoices; topping up, payment methods and auto top-up are reserved for the owner (see Team & roles).

Top up

Choose an amount between €5 and €10,000 in whole euros and pay through Stripe Checkout. The credit is available as soon as the payment is confirmed, and a suspended organization works again immediately. If a top-up fee applies to your organization, Checkout shows it as a separate line before you pay. Each top-up produces an invoice.

You can save a payment method in the same place. It is required for auto top-up.

Auto top-up

Auto top-up refills the balance before it runs out, so your requests never hit 402 insufficient_credits.

SettingRangeMeaning
Threshold€1 to €10,000When the balance falls below this amount, a top-up starts.
Amount€5 to €10,000How much is charged to the saved payment method each time.
Daily cap€5 to €100,000The most auto top-up may charge per day. Must be at least the amount.

The daily cap is the safety net: a runaway loop cannot charge more than this per day. After three failed charges in a row, auto top-up is switched off and you get an email. Switch it on again to resume; that also resets the failure count.

Low-balance warning

Set a threshold, and owners and admins get an email when the balance falls below it. Use it together with auto top-up or as your reminder to top up by hand.

Invoices and transactions

The Credits page lists your invoices and every movement on the balance: top-ups, auto top-ups and corrections by Kontinent. Usage itself is listed per request in the logs.

Budgets are a separate tool

The balance is shared by the whole organization. To cap spend per key, team or purpose, use budgets and spend limits: they stop one key or team without stopping everyone.
